Political storm in Congress subsides over BRS Jagtial MLA's joining
After Jeevan Reddy dropped hints of resigning his MLC post in protest, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and IT minister D. Sridhar Babu visited the senior Congress leader’s residence in Hyderabad on Tuesday and requested him against taking any hasty decision.
They told Jeevan Reddy that the party leadership at both state-level and national-level have the highest regard for him as one of the most senior and loyal leaders in the Congress. They said the party will recognise his services rendered to the party over the past four decades.
After the meeting, Jeevan Reddy reportedly told them that he will not quit the MLC post or the Congress. Speculations were rife that the party high command has offered a cabinet berth for Jeevan Reddy whenever cabinet expansion happens in Telangana. However, there was no official confirmation on this from the party leaders.
