Ponguleti Promises Funds to Complete 2bhk Houses

Khammam: Minister for revenue and housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced on Saturday that the state government will allocate funds to complete the construction of 2bhk houses for poor families.

Accompanied by Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, the minister distributed cheques from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to 106 beneficiaries at his camp office in Kusumanchi.

Speaking at the event, Srinivas Reddy criticised the previous BRS government for leaving many double bedroom housing projects unfinished despite claiming to prioritise housing for the poor. He assured that these projects would be completed by Sankranti and allocated to eligible families.

The minister revealed that 3,500 Indiramma houses will be allocated to each Assembly constituency in the first phase. Of the 80 lakh applications received for Indiramma houses statewide, surveys for 64 lakh have been completed, with the remaining to be finalised within four days.

Highlighting the Congress government’s focus on welfare, Srinivas Reddy stated that upcoming announcements would benefit farmers and reaffirmed commitments to women and youth made during the elections. He noted that efforts were being made to avoid financial constraints impacting welfare schemes.

He also emphasised women’s empowerment through the Indira Mahila Shakthi Scheme, aimed at financial self-sufficiency. Encouraging women to leverage government initiatives like loans to become entrepreneurs, he stressed the importance of standing independently.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated an Indira Mahila Shakthi Tea Stall at Warangal Cross Road in Khammam.
