Siddipet: Transport and BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated a redgram purchase centre at the agriculture market yard in Siddipet district headquarters. Speaking at the event, he announced a remunerative price of ₹7,550 for red gram sales through government agency purchase centres. He also mentioned that minimum support prices have been ensured for paddy, cotton, and sunflower crops.
Further addressing the gathering, Prabhakar assured that payments for paddy sales would be made within 48 hours directly into farmers' accounts. Additionally, he announced a ₹500 bonus for paddy farmers and ₹12,000 financial aid for agricultural labourers. Starting January 26, farmers will get ₹12,000 as part of the Rythu Bharosa financial aid scheme.
He emphasised the state government's commitment to the welfare and development of farmers during an inauguration ceremony on Friday. He said that the government is prioritising support for the farming community from cultivation to marketing, extending assistance not only to small and marginal farmers but also to tenant farmers and agricultural workers.
The minister also discussed ongoing surveys for Indiramma houses across the state, promising that each Assembly segment will receive 3,500 Indiramma houses allocated through a transparent process. Addressing the issue of ration cards, Prabhakar assured that new ration cards would be issued to all eligible individuals, rectifying the decade-long gap under the previous Congress government.

Highlighting financial relief measures, Prabhakar confirmed the successful implementation of a ₹2 lakh crop loan waiver in the state. He reiterated the effective rollout of the Rythu Bharosa scheme and announced that agriculture minister Tummala Nageswera Rao would soon visit Siddipet district to promote oil farm cultivation awareness.
The inauguration event was attended by Siddipet district collector Manu Chowdary and other local officials.
