Portions of Balakrishna and Jana Reddy's Homes Marked for Demolition
HYDERABAD: A portion of the house of actor and TD’s Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna and that of senior Congress leader K. Jana Reddy, where his son and Nagarjunasagar legislator Kunduru Jayaveer Reddy stays, are among those marked for demolition to take up road widening works.
Overall, 306 properties are likely to be affected while land acquisition works related to 86 properties are underway. Not the entire establishments but small portions will be razed as part of the land acquisition exercise.
Incidentally, there are two markings on two different sides of Balakrishna's house.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has proposed road widening works from Road No. 1 of Banjara Hills (near Virinchi Hospital) passing through Road No. 12 to Jubilee Hills check post via KBR park. Land acquisition is being done for this purpose.
The length of this stretch is 6.5 km and the width of the existing road ranges from 15.4 metres to 32 metres with some portions.
The GHMC has proposed to widen this road to 30 metres to 36 metres and to execute this task, portions of 306 properties will be acquired.
This road widening works will be taken up under Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project package –I. Under H-CITI, the civic body has also proposed construction of grade separators and underpasses at six junctions around KBR park.
Recently, GHMC commissioner K. Ilambarithi was instructed by MA&UD principal secretary Dana Kishore to constitute an H-CITI project implementation interdepartmental coordination committee with officials of various state government departments to pace up these infrastructure works.
