Hyderabad: The new campus of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University constructed on a 100-acre campus at Bachupally, started functioning from Monday. The government has spent Rs 35 crore on the construction of the buildings.
Inaugurating the campus, IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu also launched the 39th foundation day celebrations of the university and announced the provision of 100 new computers for students.
Sridhar Babu felicitated pharmacy doyen K.I. Varaprasad Reddy, a Padma Bhushan awardee, and presenting him a Rs 1 lakh cash prize. Varaprasad Reddy donated Rs 1 crore to the university. University Vice Chancellor Prof. Nityanand Rao spoke about the future plans of the institution.
