Hyderabad: The Praja Palana – Praja Vijayotsavalu that was organised at HMDA grounds near the Ambedkar statue led to heavy traffic congestion around Tank Bund, Necklace Road and NTR Marg here on Friday.
This also impacted movement of traffic till Lakdikapul, Khairatabad and P.V. Narasimha Rao Marg from afternoon to late evening.
Hyderabad traffic police failed to issue any prior advisory cautioning the public about the events.
During the air show from 3 pm to 5 pm, commuters slowed down their vehicles to witness the event, while stopped their vehicles along the road.
The traffic movement was particularly slow from the steel bridge exit towards Ramakrishna math and from tank bund to HMDA grounds and the Telugu Talli Flyover.
The situation worsened near the Khairatabad Ganesh immersion point when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy flagged off new SDRF vehicles.
