Pranay Murder Case: 3 Held for Fake Sureties to Release Hired Killer

Nalgonda: In a sensational Pranay Murder case, Miryalaguda police on Saturday arrested three persons for submitting fake surety certificates to the SC/ST Special Court to secure bail for hired killer Subash Sharma, the second accused, from prison.

Those arrested are identified as: Vangala Saidulu, a resident of Kethepally, and Chinthapalli Lingaiah along with Mukkala Mallesh, both from Vemulapally in Nalgonda district.

Presenting the accused at a media briefing, Miryalaguda deputy superintendent of police K. Rajasekhar Raju stated that Prumalla Pranay was murdered by hired killers on September 14, 2018, at Miryalaguda, sparking widespread outrage. The contract killer, Subash Sharma, was apprehended, imprisoned, and has sought bail over the last five years.

In November 2024, the High Court granted conditional bail to Subash Sharma. In response, three individuals submitted surety documents to the SC/ST Special Jail at Nalgonda for Sharma’s release. However, once the court forwarded the papers to law enforcement for verification, officers discovered they were forged. The arrested persons allegedly created counterfeit documents, stamps, and official signatures of village secretaries. They confessed that the fake stamp had been commissioned at a stamp-making shop in Suryapet.

Responding to inquiries, the DSP explained that Sharma’s associates approached these three individuals with monetary offers for sureties. Officials revealed that Saidulu is a habitual offender with 24 theft charges on record. Police are examining how Sharma’s relatives became connected with the accused.

All three suspects now face legal proceedings, as authorities prioritise cracking down on fake surety practices and maintaining the integrity of judicial processes. They remain in judicial custody, pending further inquiry and prosecution by Miryalaguda police.
