Prez Murmu arrives in city for 5-day southern sojourn
Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday for her annual five-day southern sojourn. Upon her arrival at the Air Force Station in
Hakimpet, President Murmu was accorded a grand welcome by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and senior officials.
Chief secretary A. Santhi Kumari, special chief secretary (home) Ravi Gupta, and advisor to the government (protocol) Harkara Venugopal Rao were among the dignitaries present, along with high-ranking officials from the three armed forces.
During her stay from December 17 to 21, the President will reside at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, one of the two official Presidential
retreats.
On December 18, President Murmu will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various development initiatives at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum and Secunderabad.
On December 20, the President will present the prestigious President’s Colours to the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad, recognising
its excellence in training military officers. Later that evening, she will host an “At Home” reception at Rashtrapati Nilayam, inviting state dignitaries, academics, and prominent citizens, said a release.
