Prioritise Salary Payment, CM Revanth Urges Panchayat Raj Officials
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday directed officials to pay salaries every month to village level staff without any interruption from next month. He was speaking at a review meeting with panchayat raj and rural development department at the Command Control Centre.
He directed the officials to clear dues under MGNREGA in the state. The district officials must look into the issues related to pending dues and take measures to settle them immediately.
There are 92,351 employees in the village panchayat offices in Telangana. Department officials have been to follow a clear policy without delay in this regard, he said. He suggested that salaries should be paid to them through the green channel.
Reddy has instructed the officials to pay all the bills related to about 1.26 lakh jobs since April last year. He wanted officials to take steps to ensure that the funds released from the Centre to panchayats are allocated for the development of villages from time to time.
The Chief Minister has alerted the officials to collect the funds due from the Centre through the Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana schemes before the end of this financial year.
