Prohibition of consumption of liquor in public places across Rachakonda Police Commissionerate

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police commissionerate has issued a notification prohibiting the consumption of liquor in public places from 6 am on January 11 until 8 am on February 10 to curb the growing issue of disorderly behaviour and public nuisance.

The order, issued under the Hyderabad City Police Act, was prompted by concerns regarding the safety and security of citizens, particularly women and children. Reports of unruly behaviour, including aggressive and indecent conduct by individuals under the influence of alcohol in public areas have become increasingly common, the statement said.

Such behaviour has created a sense of fear and insecurity among residents, restricting their free movement on streets and also causing a threat to public safety.

Violators of the order will face strict legal consequences, the statement said.
