Provide Balanced, Nutritious Diet to Students: Seethakka

Warangal: Officials must provide balanced and nutritious diet to students in tribal welfare schools without giving any scope for irregularities, warned panchayat raj minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka.

Accompanied by district collector T. S. Diwakar, the minister inspected a tribal welfare girls hostel and had meals with children sitting on the ground here in Mulugu district on Tuesday.

She inquired from students about the facilities provided in the hostel and about the quality of mid-day meals in their school.

The minister ordered officials to construct a separate dining hall in the vacant space of the hostel during Dasara festival holidays so that students can have meals conveniently instead of sitting on the ground.

The minister also inspected a Scheduled Caste girls’ welfare hostel. When the girls brought to her notice various issues in the hostel, she assured them of resolving them as early as possible.

Later, Seethakka participated in the review meeting with officials of various departments about supply of pure drinking water to all villages.

The minister said a four-day training programme will be held on supply of pure drinking water without causing any disturbances to the staff members and officials of the water supply department. After the training, officials should inspect the villages to check on supply of drinking water.

With supply of polluted water with leakage of pipelines, people are suffering from various kinds of health complications. How pure air is important to the human beings , pure water is also most essential for their survival. Keeping this in mind the officials must work with commitment, she ordered.

A special action plan was prepared for supplying water to Kothaguda and Gangaram mandals under Mulugu constituency.
