Bhongir: Telangana State BC Commission chairman V. Krishna Mohan, whose tenure ended on Saturday, urged the state government to provide reservation to Backward Classes community in proportion to their population in the local body elections.
Speaking to media, he said the commission had prepared a questionnaire for the caste census and recommended a plan to the state government to take it up. “We have also made several suggestions for providing quota to BCs in the elections to local bodies in the state,” he added.
Along with his family members, the chairman visited Yadadri and Sri Yadadri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple.
Mohan said that during his tenure he had prepared questionnaires for the BC census. He urged the state government to take up schemes for comprehensive development of BCs.
He expressed displeasure at his tenure ending before he could submit a comprehensive plan to the government on quotas.
