Quack’s clinic raided in Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Rs 25,000 drugs seized
The Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana, raided a quack’s clinic in Bommanapally, Tekulapally Mandal, Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, earlier this week and apprehended Jangam Venkateshwarlu, who was illegally practising medicine without qualifications.
During the raid, the DCA seized a stock of 25 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics and analgesics, valued at ₹25,000. Among the confiscated items were 12 types of physician’s samples, which were being stocked without a drug licence.
In a parallel operation, the DCA seized drugs marketed with misleading claims. The confiscated products were sourced from manufacturers in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana.
