Rahul to Be on a Brief Visit in Hyderabad Tomorrow
Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will be in the city on Tuesday to participate in a meeting in connection with the caste census, which is to take-off on Wednesday.
The state government will initiate the caste census process by involving 85,000 government employees including teachers to collect details of people from November 6 to 30.
Rahul Gandhi, who has a tight schedule because of the Wayanad Lok Sabha byelection, where his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting, and Jharkhand polls, will be in the city for one hour during which time he will interact with key leaders of the Congress. He is expected to suggest guidelines on going about the caste census.
During the Bharath Yodo Yatra that he undertook, Rahul Gandhi had promised to conduct caste census across the nation. Telangana is set to become the first state to conduct a caste census.
