Raja Singh alleges targeted SM censorship

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has removed two Facebook pages and three Instagram accounts linked to Raja Singh.

Hyderabad: BJP MLA T. Raja Singh has expressed shock over the reported blocking of his social media accounts as well as those of his friends and his family members, calling it "selective censorship" targeting Hindus. He alleged that freedom of speech was under attack.

“It is deeply unfortunate that Facebook and Instagram have blocked the accounts of my family, friends, karyakartas and supporters. Earlier, my official accounts were unfairly targeted based on a complaint by Rahul Gandhi. Now, even those who share my videos are being silenced,” Raja Singh said in a statement.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has removed two Facebook pages and three Instagram accounts linked to Raja Singh. The deleted pages had over 10 lakh followers, while the Instagram accounts had more than 1,55,000 followers.

The action comes nearly two weeks after India Hate Lab (IHL), a project of the Centre for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH), a Washington DC-based think tank, published a report highlighting the spread of hate speech on social media platforms.

Raja Singh questioned the decisions of social media platforms. “Why is there no action against those who mock our Gods, Hindu culture and Swamijis? Why are people who insult Prime Minister Narendra Modi and speak against India given a free pass, while voices supporting Hinduism and Hindutva are silenced?”

“This crackdown is a direct result of a report by the US-based India Hate Lab, which has a clear agenda to suppress those who stand for Hindu values. This is not moderation—it is selective censorship aimed at stifling voices that uphold Sanatan Dharma,” theBJP MLA said.

Raja Singh demanded an end to the alleged bias, stating that freedom of speech should apply to all and not be dictated by ideological preferences.
