Rajalinga Murthy Faced More than 18 Cases for Fighting Against BRS Leaders

Rajalinga Murthy, who was killed, raised his voice against the former MLA Gandra Venkat Ramana Reddy's alleged illegal activities in the district and Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Over 18 cases were registered at different places during the BRS government tenure against 50-year-old Nagavelli Rajalinga Murthy, who was killed by unidentified persons in Bhupalpally on Saturday, for fighting against BRS leaders and then MLA Gandra Venkatramana Reddy.

Meanwhile, Bhupalpally police are likely to name the suspects arrested for their involvement in the killing.

Murthy had raised his voice against Venkatramana Reddy's alleged illegal activities in the district and Hyderabad. He also filed several petitions before the court against BRS leaders, including a complaint with HYDRAA against Venkataramana Reddy and his wife for allegedly encroaching sikham land in Bachupally and constructing houses on them.

Similarly, Murthy also collected information under RTI and filed a petition before the district collector alleging that Venkataramana Reddy and his wife Jyothi had allegedly encroached on land located at FTL worth `15 crore.

Murthy had also lodged a complaint with the government against Reddy for encroaching five acres land in Bhupalpally and influencing the then revenue officers. In a complaint lodged with the district collector, he said that revenue officials had changed details of 106 acres of land after Reddy occupied forest land of six acres. Towards this he also filed a petition before the High Court.

When the BRS was in power, the police detained Murthy under the PD Act and kept him in jail for one year. After his release from jail, Murthy started exposing the BRS leader's illegal activities.

Meanwhile, the district police have detained some more suspects and questioned them on Friday. Police officials also collected details from the suspects in connection with the murder incident. Police are likely to announce the arrest of the accused on Saturday.
