Ready for Revanth's Musi Walk, if he Starts from Demolished Homes: Harish
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Saturday declared he was ready to join Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on a padayatra along the Musi if it started it from the place where people’s homes were demolished along the river in Hyderabad.
Addressing farmers during a ‘Rythu Garjana’ protest in Kulcharam of Medak district, Harish Rao, responding to the Chief Minister, said: “Musi got polluted in 66 years of Congress rule and it was KCR’s government that started the Musi rejuvenation project spending Rs.3,800 crore.”
Harish Rao said the Chief Minister was using abuse and intemperate language constantly and said may be it is time to have a Censor Board, like the one for cinema, to vet the language used by Revanth Reddy.
“Abuse will not deter the BRS from raising issues, and highlighting how farmers were cheated by the Revanth Reddy government. Already, 30 per cent of paddy has gone into the hands of middlemen as the government is not purchasing the produce. Instead of receiving Rs.2,800 per quintal including Rs.500 bonus, farmers are being forced to sell paddy at Rs.1,700 per quintal,” he said.
