Hyderabad:The Indian Navy’s renowned Navy Band will perform in the twin cities as part of Navy Day celebrations, commemorating its decisive role in the 1971 liberation of East Pakistan. December 4, Navy Day, marks the day to honour Indian Navy’s audacious Operation Trident, which crippled Karachi harbor in the 1971 war.
This year’s celebrations are headlined by a three-day Navy Band concert, hosted by Rear Admiral Ashwani Kumar Tikoo, director of the Defence Machinery Design Establishment (DMDE), Secunderabad. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will attend the event on November 23. The band will play at the for the general public at Sarath City Mall, Kondapur, on November 24.
