Red alert issued at RGIA ahead of Republic Day

Hyderabad: An alert has been declared at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) as part of security measures ahead of Republic Day, and will remain in place until January 30 to ensure the safety of passengers and airport operations.

During this period, general visitors will not be allowed inside the airport terminal. Travellers were advised to reach the airport early to have sufficient time for security checks. Normal operations, including visitor entry, will resume on January 31.

Similar security measures are implemented at all the airports every year ahead of Republic Day and Independence Day.

Meanwhile, passengers traveling to and from Delhi during Republic Day week should note changes in flight schedules. As per a ‘notice to airmen’ (Notam) advisory, no flights will arrive or depart from Delhi Airport from 10.20 am to 12.45 pm between January 19 and 26.

Travellers were advised to allocate extra time for their journey and check flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. For updated flight information, passengers should directly contact their airlines.
