Unique celebrations mark Republic Day in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s Republic Day celebrations reached new heights on Sunday. In a one-of-its-kind celebration, residents of a residential complex showcased different tableaus featuring different states, demonstrating its culture and heritage.

Over 5,000 residents of the PBEL City organised a parade representing the traditions of all states and Union Territories. Residents performed traditional dances and songs in colourful attire.

The Hyderabad Literary Festival at Knowledge City witnessed an energetic flash mob performance.

In a science fair organised by the Tellapur Neighbouring Association, tens of kids brought forward their innovative projects and ideas. Medak MP Raghunandan Rao attended the science fair, and urged parents to encourage creativity and problem-solving among children.

Several people also gathered near the B.R. Ambedkar statue at Hussainsagar to celebrate the day. Children and elders, all wearing Indian brooches and flags held in hand gathered at the statue.

Schools and colleges across the state celebrated Republic Day with utmost patriotism. Children participated in patriotic dances and skits, singing songs and learning about India’s rich culture and heritage.

Colonies and gated communities and community groups unfurled the National Flag at well-decorated spots in almost every lane and crossroads across the city, shouting “Jai Hind” and playing patriotic songs.

Some associations distributed food to the needy, and many participated in processions and rallies across the city.
