Rescue efforts continue to save workers trapped in SLBC tunnel
The SLBC tunnel incident was neither due to human error nor government negligence: Jupally

The tragedy occurred due to the sudden ingress of soil and water into the tunnel.
Hyderabad: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao accompanied the NDRF team inside the tunnel as part of the ongoing rescue operations. Despite the challenging circumstances, the government is making every possible effort to rescue the workers trapped inside.
The SLBC tunnel incident was neither due to human error nor government negligence, the minister said. The tragedy occurred due to the sudden ingress of soil and water into the tunnel. The presence of mud and water at the site is hindering rescue operations. Under the supervision of NDRF and disaster management teams, intensive rescue efforts are underway. The teams are striving to overcome obstacles and reach the accident site. However, until the water and mud are cleared, it is difficult to extract the trapped individuals, the minister said.
The government machinery responded immediately after the incident. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is continuously monitoring the situation. Along with irrigation minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Jupally rushed to the accident site and have been reviewing the situation on the ground since Saturday.
