Revanth dares Modi and KCR on crop loan waiver scheme
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at the Rythu Panduga public meeting in Mahbubnagar on Saturday.
Amid cheers from a large and enthusiastic crowd, he challenged both leaders to an open debate on the implementation of the crop loan waiver scheme, showcasing his government's achievements within its first year. Reddy highlighted the Congress government's historic waiver of ₹21,000 crore in crop loans, benefiting over 25 lakh farmers within a year after taking
office.
"Let Modi and Rao prove if any other government in India has accomplished such a feat. I am ready for a debate — anywhere, even in the Assembly," he declared, stressing the Congress government’s commitment to farmers' welfare through initiatives like free power, farmer insurance, and a ₹500 bonus for fine varieties of paddy. Addressing the contentious issue of land acquisition for an industrial park in Lagcharla, he reassured farmers of fair compensation.
"We are ready to offer three to four times the market value, with ₹20 lakh per acre. This development will bring jobs to local youth. We must prioritise progress over political obstacles," he said, while appealing to farmers and youth not to fall into the BRS trap and obstruct the developmental process. Reddy vowed to press ahead with the establishment of the industrial park in
Lagcharla, come what may. He accused BRS and its leaders, including Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao, of obstructing state development and asserted, "Their conspiracies won’t stop us. Development is inevitable."

The Chief Minister scorned Chandrashekar Rao and his neglect of Mahbubnagar (Palamuru) district during his tenure. He recalled how Rao had promised to adopt the district in 2009 but failed to deliver on his commitments.
"Despite his assurances, no major projects were completed and migration from the region increased under his government," Reddy alleged. Reiterating his dedication to the district's welfare, he said, "Palamuru doesn’t need someone to adopt for its development. I was born here and will breathe my last on this soil. As the son of this land, I will ensure the completion of Palamuru-Rangareddy project and transform barren lands into fertile fields with ₹1 lakh crore in investments over five years." He accused the former CM of amassing wealth through the controversial Kaleshwaram project by way of commissions running into crores. "If he can pocket so much for his gains, can’t we bring ₹1 lakh crore for Palamuru’s development," he asked. In a passionate appeal, Reddy urged the youth to become catalysts for change.
"You are our brand ambassadors. Every young person should become a Revanth Reddy and fight for the district’s development. Jobs for 25,000 people will transform the future of your families and this region," he proclaimed. The Chief Minister dismissed opposition efforts as "conspiracies" and pledged to stand firm against any attempts to derail development projects.
"I have faced wolves and tigers before. These political games won’t deter me. The people of Telangana deserve progress and I will deliver," he vowed. He sought blessings and solidarity of the people, emphasising his commitment to securing water for 20 lakh acres in Palamuru district and taking forward its industrial and agricultural growth.
