Revanth hands over Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayahastham Cheques to Prelims Qualified Candidates

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday distributed Rs 1 lakh Rajiv Gandhi Abhayahastham cheques to the 135 candidates, who have qualified in Civil Services Preliminary Examination- 2024 conducted by UPSC.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said the stathood was achieved through the efforts of unemployed youth and students. After coming to power as a people's government, we have addressed long-standing job vacancies. In just three months, we have facilitated 30,000 job placements, demonstrating our commitment by issuing notifications for an additional 35,000 jobs. We must elevate the prestige of our state by excelling in competitive exams, with the highest number of successful candidates coming from Telangana.
To support this, we have launched the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayastam program under the auspices of the Singareni organization. This program is designed to instill confidence in you as members of our extended family, rather than just providing financial aid. We have organized this initiative to reinforce the idea that the Secretariat belongs to the people of Telangana.
Currently, education in the state is often limited to certificate courses, leading to rising unemployment due to a lack of necessary skills. To address this, we have established Young India Skills University. Based on the advice of scholars, we have adopted an industry-driven approach to managing the university, which is why we appointed Anand Mahindra as the Chairman. Starting next year, the Skills University will provide training to 20,000 individuals.
Recognizing our country's unmet potential in the Olympics, we are also launching Young India Sports University in the next academic year, with the aim of securing the maximum number of medals in future competitions.
We also recognize the inadequacies in hostel infrastructure, which is why we are bringing SC, ST, BC, and Minority Gurukuls under one umbrella, equipped with all necessary facilities. We will establish an integrated residential school in every constituency, providing amenities that meet national standards, Revanth stated.
We will appoint Vice-Chancellors to all universities within the next ten to fifteen days and fill vacancies in these institutions. It is important to note that some individuals are attempting to provoke students for political gain, as they have done in the past. They often forget about students' struggles once their own agendas are fulfilled, he added.
The government is ready to address your concerns. Protests and dharnas are not the solutions. Do not become part of any conspiracy—think critically about government decisions. Our government's priorities remain education, employment, and farmers' welfare.
Bring your issues to the government's attention. As your elder brother, I am committed to resolving them. Focus solely on your goals. We will provide Rs. 1 lakh in assistance to those who pass not only the prelims but also the mains, he concluded.
The ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayahastham’ scheme was launched by Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday, July 20, which aims to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to candidates from the state who qualify in the UPSC Civil Services preliminary examination through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
