Revanth inaugurates Coca-Cola’s second plant in Telangana
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday said that the massive investment made by Coca-Cola in Siddipet district’s Banda Thimmapur underscored Telangana’s appeal as a hub for global industrial investments. He said the state government is committed to creating an environment conducive for business growth.
He commended Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) for its holistic approach that will not only create jobs and uplift communities but also contribute significantly to the region’s development.
Revanth Reddy was speaking after inaugurating HCCB's state-of-the-art greenfield factory at Banda Thimmapur, marking a significant milestone for one of India’s leading FMCG companies.
Those present at the inauguration included ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar and Konda Surekha, alongside Juan Pablo Rodriguez, CEO of HCCB.
The factory, built on 49 acres, has a total planned investment of Rs 2,091 crore ($251 million) out of which Rs 1,409 crore ($170 million) has already been utilised for the current phase. The facility operates seven advanced production lines and is poised to generate direct and indirect employment for 410 personnel. This is HCCB's second factory in Telangana, complementing the existing one in Ameenpur, Sangareddy district. Together, they underline HCCB’s substantial and growing presence in Telangana, with a combined investment of Rs 3,798 crore ($455.5 million) and employment for over 1,000 individuals.
Industries minister Sridhar Babu said, "HCCB’s investment in Banda Thimmapur is an example of how industrial growth and sustainability go hand in hand. This greenfield factory is a major addition to Telangana’s industrial landscape. It will ensure sustainable growth and prosperity for the region.” HCCB CEO Rodriguez said, "This is a significant step in HCCB’s growth journey and a reaffirmation of our commitment to Telangana. This state-of-the-art factory combines advanced manufacturing technology with sustainable practices, positioning it as a benchmark in our industry. It was heartening to see the way the government, especially the Chief Minister and the industry minister took the initiative to facilitate quick approvals. This has enabled us to commence production at the green factory despite several challenges on the ground.”
