CM Revanth lauds farmers for record paddy harvest

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has extended his congratulations to the state's farmers for achieving a record-breaking paddy harvest. In a post on X, Reddy praised the farmers as the "pride of the nation" and expressed his heartfelt admiration for their hard work and dedication.

Reddy's statement comes amidst ongoing debate about the factors contributing to the state's agricultural success. The BRS party has often credited the Kaleshwaram project for the increased paddy cultivation. However, Reddy's remarks suggest a different perspective. Despite challenges such as the sinking of the Medigadda reservoir and the failure to store water in Annaram and Sundilla reservoirs following NDSA guidelines, Telangana has witnessed a remarkable agricultural achievement. This, according to Reddy, is a testament to the resilience and determination of the state's farming community.

Meanwhile, irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy posted on X: "I am happy to announce that Telangana has produced record production of 153 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in a record acreage of 66.77 lakh acres in the present kharif crop. This is the highest paddy production in the history of Telangana or in combined Andhra Pradesh."
