Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday laid the foundation for the construction of IT major Cognizant’s new campus at Kokapet in Hyderabad. The state-of-the-art facility will be the second campus of Cognizant in the city with 10 lakh sq ft area, and the second largest campus of Cognizant outside the United States.

Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy said, “Our goal is to transform Telangana into a trillion-dollar economy within the next 10 years."

He said the government is in the process of finalising additional agreements and will establish an investor taskforce to facilitate regular investment-related discussions.

He also assured Cognizant of the government’s full support for its expansion plans in Hyderabad.

The Chief Minister highlighted the success of his recent official tour to the US and South Korea, where he led a state delegation to meet global business leaders and corporate giants. "We received an overwhelmingly positive response from potential investors, particularly in favour of Telangana, especially Hyderabad," he noted.

He proudly announced that the state had already secured record investments worth ₹31,500 crore during the tour, which are expected to generate over 30,750 jobs.

Discussing the future vision for Telangana, Revanth Reddy outlined the concept of the ‘Future State,’ which will be divided into three development rings. The first ring will encompass the core urban area of Hyderabad, the second will focus on semi-urban regions where manufacturing facilities will be established, and the third ring will target rural Telangana, aiming to develop the region into some of the best villages in Asia with modern amenities.

Reflecting on Hyderabad's rich history, the Chief Minister acknowledged the contributions of past leaders, from former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, who laid the foundation for IT development in the city, to the successive administrations of N. Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, who fostered the city's growth. "Cyberabad City was developed during this period, and now, on similar lines, we are envisioning the creation of a fourth city – the ‘Future City,’" he explained.

The Chief Minister also stressed that despite political differences, the development of Hyderabad remains a top priority. “We are not competing with Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, or any neighbouring states; our competition is global. There is no city like Hyderabad in the region, and we will continue to make it the best destination for investments," he said.
