Revanth asks officials to speed up construction of residential schools

CM instructs officials to select easily-accessible locations for residential schools

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday directed officials to complete the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools (YIIRS), which are being built by the state government in 100 Assembly constituencies, within the stipulated time.

In a review meeting on the construction of the schools on Friday, the Chief Minister enquired about the status of buildings and land acquisition.

The officials briefed the Chief Minister about the completion of the tendering process for the construction of schools in Kodangal, Madhira and Huzurnagar and the work will start on March 20.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to select an easily accessible location for the construction of the residential school. He also ordered senior officials to expedite the land acquisition and permission process in the remaining constituencies and asked district collectors to conduct field visits.

He instructed Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari to review the land acquisition and site selection every two days and submit a report on it within 10 days.

Revanth Reddy asked the authorities to prepare plans to construct the buildings for teaching and non-teaching needs at the Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Mahila University (previously the Koti Women’s College) on par with other state universities without compromising on the quality. He also advised the officials to conserve the historical and ancient buildings in the premises and seek the cooperation of the archaeological department.

School education commissioner E.V. Narasimha Reddy, Veeranari Chakali Ailamma Women's University vice-chancellor Prof. Surya Dhananjay and others participated in the review meeting.
