Revanth Reddy slams absence of 'Liars Association' president in Assembly

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that Maharashtra leads in farmer suicides in the country, followed by Telangana. During his speech in the Assembly on Rythu Bharosa, he claimed that under the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime, 3,000 farmers died by suicide in the state.

He challenged the BRS's claim that farm suicides had decreased under their governance, labelling it as incorrect. Reddy also took a swipe at the opposition, noting that the president of the so-called 'Liars Association' did not attend the Assembly session, but the vice-president was present.
Reddy further criticised the BRS party, which lost the 2023 elections and forfeited deposits in the 2024 elections, stating it is not a role model for his government.
He accused BRS leaders of obstructing significant state initiatives like land acquisition for industries in his constituency and the Musi River rejuvenation project.
