Warangal: Keeping in view its population by 2050 and the future needs of people, the master plan of Warangal, which is at its final stages, will be released by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy very soon, said in-charge minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Tuesday.
He was speaking at a review meeting which was attended by ministers Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar and CM’s chief adviser Vem Narendar Reddy along with MP Kadiam Kavya and MLAs Naini Rajendar Reddy, Revuri Prakash Reddy, Kadiam Srihari and Karimnagar Urban Development Authority chairman Enagala Venkatram Reddy at Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Discussions were held on various issues including the designing of the master plan for Warangal, laying of its inner and outer ring roads, development of Bhadrakali temple, building of underground drainage system, mega textile park, new airport at Mamnoor and eco-tourism development.
Srinivas Reddy said the Chief Minister is determined to developing Warangal on the lines of Hyderabad. The master plan was pending for several years. The Congress government has not only designed the master plan, it is going to implement it very soon, he added.
Officials of the concerned departments were told to acquire land on a war-footing for the laying of the outer and inner ring roads. The ORR will cover 41 km in three stages of 21, 11 and nine km.
Except in Hyderabad, there is no airport in Telangana. Very soon an airport will come up at Mamnoor. Officials must prepare an action plan for taking up construction of the airport at the earliest and services will be offered to people within a year, he said.
The Bhadrakali lake spreads over 382 acres. Officials must take up its desiltation and must empty it without causing inconvenience to people living in its surrounding areas. Steps also must be taken for providing jobs to local youths in Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Parkal constituency along with construction of the underground drainage system, he added.
