Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to announce the constitution of an Employee Health Care Trust on Monday to facilitate the rollout of the Employees Health Scheme (EHS), which will provide digital health cards and cashless treatment services to Telangana government employees and pensioners. The scheme will be launched as part of the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations on June 2.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office on Sunday, Revanth Reddy will conduct a comprehensive review meeting with officials on Monday regarding the implementation of the Employees Health Scheme, which the government is introducing to strengthen health security for state employees and retired staff.
The scheme will be implemented through the newly constituted Employee Health Care Trust. The trust will comprise six representatives from employee unions and two representatives from pensioners. In addition, a serving state government employee will be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the trust. The government is expected to formally announce the composition of the trust on Monday.
Preparatory work for the implementation of the scheme has already commenced. The Finance department has issued a circular to all government departments seeking details of employees, pensioners and their family members. Departments were instructed to upload the required data by May 31.
Based on the information collected, the government will initiate the process of issuing digital health cards and extending cashless medical treatment services to beneficiaries under the Employees Health Scheme. The initiative is aimed at ensuring accessible and hassle-free healthcare for serving employees, pensioners and their dependent family members across the state.
