Revanth Reddy urges Modi to sanction Regional Rail Ring project akin to RRR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sanction a Regional Ring Rail alongside the upcoming RRR and also requested him to approve the state government’s proposed metro rail projects.

Speaking at a virtual event, where the Prime Minister inaugurated the Cherlapalli New Terminal Station, Revanth Reddy expressed his happiness over the development of the Cherlapalli station.

Stating that the state government will extend its cooperation for all rail development projects, the Chief Minister urged the railway ministry to expedite the Vikarabad–Krishna new rail line project via Kodangal. He also requested a new dedicated rail line between Secunderabad and Machilipatnam to enhance connectivity to the dry port facility.

The event, which was organised at the Charlapalli station, was attended by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union coal and mines minister G. Kishan Reddy, Union minister of state for railways V. Somanna, Union MoS (home) Bandi Sanjay Kumar, state IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu, MP Eatala Rajender, and MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy, along with local guests from the surrounding areas.

While addressing the gathering, Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said the “Cherlapalli railway station will aid in the further development of the city outskirts by providing comfortable rail travel facilities. It will also help in goods transport.”

He said Indian Railways is developing around 1,300 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, including 40 important railway stations in Telangana. “Plans are underway to provide MMTS connectivity to the Yadadri pilgrim centre. A new railway station is also coming up soon at Komuravelli.”

Minister D. Sridhar Babu said, “The inauguration of Cherlapalli railway station is a major facility for the people of the twin cities and the Telangana region. The state government will extend its cooperation for the development of railway infrastructure facilities.”

V. Somanna, Union minister of state for railways, stated, “The inauguration of Cherlapalli railway station is a historical occasion and a new milestone. Indian Railways is making relentless efforts to achieve the dream of Viksit Bharat, as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who understands the needs of the people and has increased the railway budget significantly compared to previous governments.”
