Revanth Sets Ball Rolling for Skill Varsity

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday said that the government will set up a Skill Development University in the state, which will help youth to acquire required skills to improve their employment opportunities.

Following a representation from industrialists on the Skill University during his visit to the Engineers’ Staff College at Gachibowli, Revanth Reddy directed officials and industry leaders to come up with proposals on Skill Development University a couple of days before the Assembly Session to be held in July.

The government, he said, will take a decision within 24 hours after receiving the proposals.

The Chief Minister opined that the Skill Development University would be established within the premises of the Engineering Staff College as it is closer to all IT companies and industries.

Revanth Reddy suggested that the courses and curriculum of the Skill Development University should be developed based on the needs of industries.

Financial issues, he said, should be discussed with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, while curriculum and courses should be taken up with IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu.
