Revanth to Lead Chalo Raj Bhavan Protest
Hyderabad: In response to the nationwide campaign launched by AICC to expose alleged corruption and inaction of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre concerning industrialist Gautam Adani, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has announced a ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ rally on December 18.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with ministers, party MLAs and MLCs, will participate in the protest rally, which will commence at 11 am from the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road and culminate at Raj Bhavan.
In a media statement here on Monday, the TPCC accused the NDA government of deliberately overlooking alleged financial irregularities by Adani and his group, calling it evidence of "officially allowing corruption" in the country.
"Congress will organise various programmes across the country on December 18 to create mass awareness about corruption. On the same day, TPCC will launch its campaign in Telangana while also highlighting the Union government's failure to restore order in Manipur," the statement said.
The committee claimed that the irregularities committed by Adani in the United States had tarnished the image of India Inc.
"The allegations related to corruption, fraud, money laundering, market manipulation, and criminal charges against Adani have seriously damaged the country’s reputation on the global stage," the statement read.
The rally will also highlight Prime Minister Narendra Modi's failure to visit strife-torn Manipur.
