Revanth Wraps Up 4-Day Delhi Visit

Raises hopes for allocations of funds and projects to Telangana in Union Budget

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by his team of ministers, successfully concluded a four-day tour in Delhi on Thursday, which was aimed at addressing the state's pending issues with the Centre. This strategic visit, coming ahead of the Union Budget expected in the third week of July, has raised hopes for the allocation of crucial funds and projects to Telangana.

The newly-formed Modi 3.0 government, which assumed office on June 9, welcomed the Telangana delegation as its first state representative. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Seethakka, engaged in significant discussions with Union ministers.

Speaking to media personnel in Delhi on Thursday, Revanth Reddy highlighted the urgency of their visit. "We rushed to Delhi keeping in mind the new Budget which will be presented by the NDA government in Parliament in the third week of July. We wanted to meet Union ministers and submit our representations seeking funds and projects for Telangana before the Centre drafts the Budget. This would maximise the chances of the Centre allocating required funds and projects to Telangana in the new Budget," he stated.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining cordial relations with both the Centre and neighbouring states, such as Andhra Pradesh, in the interests of Telangana.

Reflecting on the previous administration, he remarked, "The previous BRS government adopted a confrontational attitude with the Centre for their selfish political interests, due to which Telangana suffered a lot. Funds and projects that are due for Telangana remained pending for the last five years with the Centre holding them back. Neither the chief minister nor the ministers bothered to meet the Prime Minister and ministers on pending issues. But we will fight politically only during elections. Since elections are over now, we want to focus on the welfare of people and the development of the state. For that, we need the Centre's assistance. We also want to resolve pending bifurcation issues with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh."

Revanth Reddy also stated that he will soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to seek a resolution of pending issues concerning Telangana.

The Telangana delegation's proactive approach in meeting Union ministers well ahead of the Union Budget has been seen as a strategic move to ensure the state's development needs are prioritised. As the NDA government prepares the budget, the positive dialogues initiated by Revanth Reddy and his team may prove crucial for Telangana’s progress, official sources said.
