Rice millers being threatened: BJP
Hyderabad:BJP legislature party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy said the categorisation of the millers has been made with an eye on cutting deals. He further asked as to why paddy was being allocated to default millers.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters in Hyderabad, he said, “GO 27 issued by the civil supplies department will give impetus to corruption. The millers are being threatened by appointing task forces. Why the names of rice millers who have defaulted are not being kept in the public domain? The government is not sincere in buying paddy. Harvesting of paddy has started and still the names of millers are not being finalised.”
The BJP, he said had exposed `11,500 crores scam in the civil supplies department. “Congress is committing the same mistakes as the BRS. They are laying foundations for big scams. Why are GOs being issued after the paddy purchase has started? he queried. Despite differences between them, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and civil supplies minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy are together in this corruption, he alleged.
