Rosary Convent High School celebrates 120th annual day
HYDERABAD: It was going back in time for many former students of Rosary Convent High School at Gunfoundry, one of the premier institutions for girls, as it celebrated its 120th annual day here on Saturday.
Making the outing that much more memorable for every participant was the mesmerising line-up of events, including an impressive march past, cultural programs, skits and group and solo performances. Girls attired in their traditional green and white uniform were joyous while watching the performances by their school mates.
The hundred-member school choir rendered inspiring numbers with the icing on the cake being ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons, and written by Neil Diamond.
Aysha Mirza, a Class 6 student and a member of the team, gave credit to the music teacher’s moulding till they achieved perfection.
The products of the school are today among top bureaucrats, educationalists, economists, advocates, judges, doctors, philanthropists, artists and lecturers.
Meanwhile, the top-notch Class 10 students were awarded trophies.
The event was inaugurated by Jeevanlal Lavidiya, commissioner of Income Tax (AP/TS), and graced by Ratna Reddy, a former student who founded CHIREC International School.
The celebrations began with smartly dressed NCC cadets welcoming the guests with saplings.
Sr Anna Mary Tirumala Reddy, correspondent of the school, welcomed the guests, while Sr Josephina Kommareddy, principal, emphasised the school's dedication to fostering academic excellence, moral values, sportsmanship, discipline, and effective communication skills to prepare students for a successful future.
Ratna Reddy recalled her enriching journey and announced Rs five lakh towards scholarships for deserving and meritorious students.
President Rachna Waddepalli coordinated several events marking the institution’s 120 years.
