RPF hands over lost electronic goods worth Rs. 42.70 lakh to passengers

Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) won the appreciation of passengers for recovering missing or forgotten laptops and other electronic gadgets in train compartments and handing them over to passengers concerned.

On Sunday, a passenger forgot his laptop in a B5 AC coach during his journey from Bhimavaram to Secunderabad. Following information, a RPF head constable P. Rajashekar of Lingampalli Post swiftly recovered the laptop from on duty Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) Ravi Kumar and handed it over at the RPF office.

A message was later given to the passenger M.Venkat Rao, who came to the RPF office in Lingampalli and claimed the laptop worth Rs.30,000 after completing the verification process. Rao thanked the RPF which helped him in recovering the lost laptop and expressed gratitude for the prompt action.

In 2024, the RPF Lingampalli post retrieved missing or forgotten electronic gadgets worth Rs. 42.70 lakh so far in 53 incidents and handed over to passengers under operation Amanath which brought a lot of goodwill and boosts passenger confidence.

This operation conducted over trains and railway premises underlines the alertness of the on duty staff and the motive of RPF to ensure a safe and secure environment to passengers for travel thereby enhancing the overall experience and confidence in the railway system.
