Rs 102 cr garments unit to open in Sircilla
State-of-the-art garment manufacturing unit will be inaugurated at Peddur Apparel Park in Sircilla

Hyderabad: In a major boost to Telangana’s textile sector and rural livelihoods, a state-of-the-art garment manufacturing unit, established with an investment of Rs 102 crore, will be inaugurated at Peddur Apparel Park in Sircillaon Friday by ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and D. Sridhar Babu.
Ahead of the inauguration, the ministers held a review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday with principal secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer and senior officials to oversee final preparations.
"The initiative aims to empower economically disadvantaged women, including beedi workers and members of the Padmashali community, by offering skill training in garment stitching and providing sustainable employment opportunities," said Nageswara Rao.
The government has extended comprehensive infrastructure support, including industrial sheds and uninterrupted power supply, for the project. Bengaluru-based Texport Industries has invested Rs 40 crore in advanced machinery and established the production unit.
Catering exclusively to international markets, the unit will export 100 per cent of its production. It is expected to manufacture 70 lakh garments annually, generating Rs 300 crore in export revenue. Products will be supplied to global fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Robert Graham, Vans and Michael Kors.
Currently equipped with 1,000 sewing machines, the unit will run in two shifts, directly employing 1,600 women. Over the next three years, it is projected to create an additional 2,000 jobs.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Sridhar Babu will distribute appointment letters to the newly employed women. The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has developed a built-to-suit facility for the unit, spanning 1.73 lakh square feet, at a cost of Rs 62 crore.
