Karimnagar: The state government on Monday sanctioned ₹127.65 crore for various developmental works at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple and in Vemulawada, the temple city of Rajanna Sircilla district.
The funding was initiated following efforts by Government Chief Whip and Vemulawada Congress MLA Aadi Srinivas. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy approved the allocation for projects aimed at enhancing the temple's infrastructure and modernising amenities for pilgrims.
According to G.O. Rt. No. 575, ₹76 crore has been allocated for expanding the temple complex and improving facilities for visitors.
In G.O. Rt. No. 576, ₹47.85 lakh was sanctioned for land acquisition to widen the road connecting the temple to the Mulawagu bridge.
Additionally, G.O. Rt. No. 574 allocated ₹3.8 crore for constructing a major drainage pipeline to divert town sewage from various points, including Mulawagu and Bathukamma Theppa, to Jagtial Kaman Junction in Vemulawada Municipality.
