Karimnagar: The state government on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 35.25 crore for the construction of an Annadanam Satram at the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district. The Satram will provide meals to devotees within the temple premises.
As part of its commitment to developing the Rajanna temple on par with the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, the government had earlier allocated Rs 127 crore to expand facilities at the temple.
During his visit to Vemulawada on Wednesday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated several development projects and laid foundation stones for upcoming works planned by the government.
The Rs 35.25 crore allocation for the Annadanam Satram followed a request from minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas. The government issued a GO Rt No. 588 to formalise the funding.
Speaking on the occasion, Ponnam Prabhakar said that during his visit to the temple in August, temple authorities and Aadi Srinivas had requested the establishment of the Annadanam Satram. He assured them of taking the matter to the Chief Minister's notice. Responding promptly, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sanctioned the required funds.
Prabhakar thanked the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and in-charge minister Uttam Kumar Reddy for their support in sanctioning the funds for this essential project.
