RTC Super Luxury Bus Overturns in Mancherial
Driver allegedly dozes off near Mandamarri; driver and lone passenger sustain minor injuries as major tragedy is averted.
Adilabad: A Super Luxury bus belongs to TGSTRC overturned near Mandamarri town in Mancherial district on Sunday after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel.
The bus was travelling from Kothagudem to Bellampalli when the accident occurred. According to reports, as the vehicle approached Mandamarri, the driver slipped into a state of drowsiness, causing the bus to lose control. The bus veered off the national highway onto a service road and overturned.
The driver and a passenger sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Officials said a major tragedy was avoided as most passengers had already disembarked at their respective destinations, leaving only one passenger on board at the time of the accident.
Police reached the spot and took measures to ensure smooth traffic flow, preventing any disruption on the highway. An investigation into the incident is underway.
