Rural infra is top priority: Tummala

Kothagudem: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao emphasised the state government's commitment to rural infrastructure development on Friday. He was speaking at the inauguration of a new gram panchayat building in Allipalli village, Dammapeta mandal.

Highlighting the importance of road connectivity in rural progress, the minister stated that the government is prioritising the construction of roads to even the most remote villages. He noted that Dammapeta mandal is home to Gollagidem, the birthplace of a historically significant figure, and recalled his efforts to promote development in Sathupally during his tenure in various government roles.
Addressing the tribal population in the region, Rao reiterated that only tribal residents have the right to cultivate lands under their possession, stressing that cultivation by non-tribals on such lands is prohibited.
Aswaraopeta MLA Jare Adinarayana announced that the state government has sanctioned ₹25 crore for road construction in the Assembly constituency, with projects slated for completion by March 2025.
