Sack Amit Shah, demands Congress

Congress leaders held a Samman March protesting the comments by Union home minister Amit Shah against the architect of Constitution Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in Hanamkonda and Karimnagar districts on Tuesday.

In Hanamkonda, Congress leaders led by Warangal West MLA Naini Rajendar Reddy first paid floral tribute to Ambedkar statue at the Ambedkar junction and then took out a samman march to the collectorate and submitted a representation to collector Praveenya.

In Karimnagar, Congress leaders led by DCC president and Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana paid floral tributes to Ambedkar’s statue at Court Chowrasta and then took out the samman march to Indira Chowk.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leaders alleged that it was unfortunate that Union home minister Amith Shah had made such disparaging remarks at Ambedkar who worked tirelessly to draft the Constitution.

When countries around the world praise our Constitution, it is disgraceful that Amit Shah insulted its creator. It is sad that the BJP government has not responded to the remarks made by Shah.

BJP leaders sitting in Lok Sabha as MPs are attacking the Constitution. An ST and SC atrocity case must be lodged against Amith Shah for his derogatory comments against Ambedkar, they said.

Amit Shah's comments have hurt the feelings of weaker sections. He must apologise unconditionally to all of them and the BJP must remove him from his position as home minister immediately, otherwise Congress leaders along with people of all sections will teach a lesson to the BJP, they warned.
