Allu Arjun appears before Chikkadpally police

Hyderabad: Film actor Allu Arjun appeared before the Chikkadpally police here on Sunday in connection with the stampede that took place at Sandhya 70 MM theatre on December 4.

As part conditions of the bail granted to him on Friday, the actor has to appear before the investigating officer (IO) at the Chikkadpally police station every Sunday between 10 am and 1pm for a period of two months or till filing of the charge sheet, whichever is earlier.

Around 10 am, Allu Arjun came to the police station in a black SUV and appeared before the IO. The police made elaborate security arrangements in view of the actor’s appearance before the police anticipating that a large number of people would reach Chikkadpally to see the actor.

The police placed barricades at the lanes and bylanes connecting the police station to restrict the entry of his fans. A local court in Nampally criminal court complex granted regular bail to Allu Arjun, who was an accused in the case booked over the death of a woman Revathi in a stampede during the premiere of his latest film ‘Pushpa-2’. Her son Sritej escaped with serious injuries.

The court also directed the actor to furnish two sureties, who should execute bond for Rs 50,000 each, besides his own with the same amount. The petitioner should not hamper the investigation in any manner nor should directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any witness so as to dissuade them from disclosing such facts to the court or to any police officer, the court said.

It further stated that the petitioner should cooperate with the investigation and he should not make any attempt to interfere with the ongoing investigation or with the witnesses, in any manner.
