Satta betting racket busted in Hyderabad; 24 held
Hyderabad: South zone sleuths and Shahinayathgunj police have busted a Satta betting racket, arrested 24 persons and seized ₹ 30,760 cash, Satta chits, 15 mobile phones, a lottery chart and other material.
Police made the arrests after raiding a house in Jummerat Bazar. The arrested included the organiser, sub-organisers and 20 punters. The main organiser has been identified as Vishal Singh, 26, and the sub-organisers were Naresh Kumar Chowhan, 24, Aniketh Singh, 22, Akshay Singh, 26, and 20 punters.
During interrogation, the main organiser Vishal Singh, a resident of Jummerat Bazar and owner of Vicky Pan Shop, revealed that they had hatched a plan to organise the Satta betting house. Vishal started Satta house by taking a room on rent at the back side of his pan shop and engaged three sub-organisers to run the house with the habitual punters clandestinely, Ande Srinivasa Rao, additional DCP of task force said.
The accused were mainly targeted the auto drivers, labourers and hotel workers by generating hope in them to earn easy money by playing this game. Believing their words, several gambling addicts came forward to play Satta by betting their hard-earned money, additional DCP informed.
The accused have been handed over to the SHO of Shahinayathgunj along with seized property and a case in crime number 423 of 2024, under sections 3 and 4 of the TS Gaming Act has been booked against the arrested and was produced before the court for judicial remand.
