Satya Nadella launches book on HPS History

Hyderabad:Hyderabad Public School (HPS) alumni Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen launched ‘Flight of the Eagle’, a coffee table book marking the 100th anniversary of their alma mater, on Tuesday. The book highlights the school's legacy of academic excellence, cultural achievements, and societal impact.

‘Flight of the Eagle’ traces HPS's history from its origins as Jagirdars College in 1923 to its rise as a leading educational institution. It delves into key milestones, traditions and the school's growth over the decades, drawing from extensive archival research and interviews with alumni, teachers and staff.

“We wanted to create a book that honours HPS’s incredible history and celebrates the remarkable individuals who contributed to its success,” said Kishor Krishnamoorthi, chief editor. “The stories and visuals reflect the spirit of the school and its impact on generations of students.”

The book also offers personal stories and historical insights, providing a glimpse into the school’s past and future goals.

“It has been a delight to lead this publication commemorating HPS's centenary,” said Chandra Shekhar Reddy Kundur, co-chairperson of the Coffee Table Book Sub-Committee. “This book aims to summarise the school’s history, its vast infrastructure and the ‘X factor’ that produces global leaders,” he explained.

The launch event included the felicitation of Nadella and Narayen and speeches by Gusti Noria, president of the HPS Society, and Skand Bali, principal of the school. The event culminated in a symbolic unveiling ceremony, with students and staff presenting the books.
