SC panel got 135 pleas from Warangal: Commission head
WARANGAL: Justice Shamim Akhter, head of the one-man commission on Scheduled Caste (SC) categorisation, announced on Thursday that a comprehensive report will be prepared based on the petitions and requests received. This report will be submitted to the state government following a public inquiry on the sub-categorisation of Scheduled Castes, held at the collectorate conference hall in Hanamkonda.
Speaking at the event, Justice Akhter said that the commission has received 135 petitions and requests from various SC community organisations of the erstwhile Warangal district.
He further explained that the commission gathers petitions and requests from different SC caste organisations by visiting all regions of the state. This approach aims to ensure a thorough analysis of issues related to SC categorisation and related matters before providing recommendations and submitting a detailed report to the government.
Later, Justice Shamim Akhter, along with commission officials, visited the SC Colony in Subbayyapalli village of Hasanparthy mandal to interact with SC residents. During the visit, he enquired about the availability of basic amenities and infrastructure, as well as the issues and challenges faced by the community. He advised residents to inform the concerned officials if they encounter any problems.
