School Tragedy: 13-Year-Old Student Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances

Hyderabad: A 13 year old student was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Sri Chaitanya School, Kompally.

The deceased identified as Mallikarjuna reportedly in the seventh grade, had gone to sleep after dinner with other students but did not wake up the next morning.

The deceased, identified as Mallikarjun 13, hailing from Chilvera Village in Medak, was joined in seventh grade on June 24, at Sri Chaitanya School's K4 campus.

According to the police, Mallikarjun had dinner with other students on Monday night and went to sleep. The next morning, he did not wake up. Allegedly, when the hostel staff found him unresponsive, they rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Mallikarjun's parents, Madhavi and Beerappa, said, "He is our elder son. We dropped him off yesterday, and he spoke very well with us. He promised us he would study hard. He was very active, intelligent, smart, and always excelled in his studies. This incident has shattered us. I don't have the strength to believe he is no more," said Madhavi.

Meanwhile, the school authorities said, "He was very healthy when we last saw him. He had food with his batch mates and was active. We found out about the incident when our staff tried to wake him up in the morning. When he didn't respond, we rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had already passed away," said Ramesh Reddy.

Inspector K. Vijay Vardhan told Deccan Chronicle, "The preliminary investigation suggests that he died due to cardiac arrest. However, we await the post mortem report to confirm the cause of death. We have registered a case in this regard and are currently investigating the matter," he said.
