Scooters, Drones to Aid Anganwadi Staff, Farmers

Under a Rs 4 crore CSR initiative, Anganwadi workers and farmers receive electric scooters and drones to improve outreach and agricultural efficiency.

Warangal: In a bid to enhance community services and agricultural efficiency, District Collector Rahul Sharma distributed 20 electric scooters and 12 drones at an event held at the Collectorate. The donation, funded by a 4 crore CSR initiative from ECIEL, is set to benefit Anganwadi staff and local farmers.

Speaking at the event, collector Sharma emphasised that the electric scooters would help Anganwadi supervisors reach remote villages where transportation is often lacking. He also highlighted the significant role of drones in agriculture, noting that they could ease labour shortages, aid in efficient pesticide spraying, and reduce health risks associated with manual spraying.

In addition to the mobility and agricultural equipment, the district is set to receive advanced medical equipment. The collector mentioned that a CT scanner and other devices would be installed at the district’s main hospital by next month, further bolstering local healthcare services.

ECIEL’s chairman and managing director, Anurag Kumar, underscored the company’s commitment to social responsibility, stating that these resources have been allocated to uplift both public services and agricultural practices in the district.

The event was attended by key officials, including additional collectors Ashok Kumar and Vijayalakshmi, CPO Babu Rao, welfare officer Malleshwari, agriculture officer Veeru Nayak, hospital supervisor Dr Naveen Kumar, ECIEL HR Murali, and CMO Venu Babu.
