SCR To Resume Train Services Between AP, Telangana

Warangal: Officials of the South Central Railways completed the repair of the damaged railway track in a record 36 hours and conducted a trial run here in Mahabubabad district on Wednesday.

The railway track between Intakanne and Kesamudram railway stations was washed away in floodwater after the Ayodhyapuram lake bund breached on September 1.

As many as 28 trains were cancelled and two Sanghamitra express trains halted at Kesamudram railway station.

With the support of RTC officials and police, the railway officials shifted the stranded rail passengers of Sanghamitra express trains to Kazipet railway station and then to their destinations.

With rains subsiding on Monday, officials carried out the repair day and night by deploying 300 workers and two large cranes and completed the work by Tuesday night.

With the completion of the repair work, a trial run of Golconda express train was conducted from Vijayawada to Hyderabad via Mahabubabad, Warangal and Kazipet railway stations.

The officials are about to restore the train services between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
